My original shop was located in an old Vermont dairy barn. Although it burned down one day when I was away on vacation, we rebuilt on the same spot. Same anvil, same forge, new cement floor.

Steven Bronstein at workBlackthorne Forge FAQ

How are your products made?
My work is hand crafted in forged iron. Some items incorporate other purchased materials, such as mirrors, the battery-operated mechanisms in my clocks, etc.

Do you guarantee your work?
All Blackthorne Forge ironwork is guaranteed for life. Returns may be made within 30 days for any reason. Beyond that, you may return your broken or defective item to me, at your expense, and I will ship back your repaired or replaced item at my expense.

How much do you charge for shipping?
Ironwork is heavy! To make things simpler all around, I charge for shipping based on the total price of the items sent. It amounts to approximately 7% of your order.

How are the items sent?
Unless otherwise arranged, all work will be sent UPS ground. If you require another shipping method, please contact us.

Do you do custom work?
I will be happy to discuss orders for custom work. It's always a good idea to see if you can find something close to what you seek already made, though, because custom work is always more expensive. Sometimes a custom tweak to one of my existing designs can be an economical solution.

Where can I see/touch/purchase your work in person?
Blackthorne Forge items can be found in many craft shops and galleries throughout the country. (Here is a partial list) If your local craft shop does not carry our work, please tell them about us!

Planning to visit central Vermont? You are welcome to come by and visit my shop in person. It's always a good idea to call before you arrive - 802.426.3369
